Hello, Ben Franklin 4th – 8th Grade Families!
Hope you’re all doing well and your school year is off to a good start!
I wanted to let you know your children have the opportunity to participate in Band and Orchestra classes this year as an extra-curricular activity through our Douglas County Youth Orchestra program, TREIM.
So good for them to learn an instrument, and while it takes some effort, it can be a lot of fun too.
Band at Ben Franklin Academy**
Beginning Band: Mondays & every other Friday, 7:15 – 8:10 a.m.
Intermediate Band: Tuesdays & every other Friday, 7:15 – 8:10 a.m.
Instructor: Mr. Sevy (Video introduction)
***This class is open to students through 8th Grade.**
Beginning Band starts Sept. 9.
Intermediate Band starts Sept. 10.

Beginning Orchestra: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:35 – 4:20 p.m.
Intermediate Orchestra: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:35 – 5:05 p.m.

Also, note we will be having a Meet the Teacher/Rent an Instrument Event on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 5:15 – 7:00 p.m., at Ranch View Middle School!
The Meet the Teacher/Rent and Instrument Event is a good opportunity to ask questions and rent an instrument, if you’re ready, right at your school. We’re trying to make it easier for busy parents by doing this.

Can’t attend the Event or decide later you’re interested? No worries, our website has teacher emails so you can ask questions, and links for renting an instrument online.
Useful to know: We do have some Scholarship funds available and there is an application on the website.
